Mahalovich Rites Are Set On Thursday
Vencil Mahalovich, 63, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 10,
1947, at 5:15 after an illness of eight weeks. His death was caused by a
serious lung ailment.
He was born Aug. 12, 1883, in Fuzine, Yugoslavia, the son of
Andrew and Mary Buban Mahalovich.
To U. S. in 1902
He came to the U. S. in 1902 and settled at Canton, where he
married Miss Louise Padavich on Jan. 6, 1912. They lived there for a
time until 1923 when they came to Alpha. He was a miner all his life.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic church of Woodhull, the
Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Croation Fraternal Union, both of Matherville.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Mrs. Howard Hahn of
Dixon and Thomas at home; one brother, Anton Mahalovich of Joliet and a
sister Teresa Mahalovich of Yugoslavia, and several nephews and nieces.
Services
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Caholic church at
Woodhull Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in charge of Rev. Walter Busche.
Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Viola. The body was taken to
the home from the Knox-Wallin mortuary Tuesday afternoon where friends called.
