Agnes McCann

  Agnes (McEniry) McCann, 77, of Creston died Jan. 19, 2002 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.
  Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 22 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. The Rev. John Maier, the Rev. Art McCann, the Rev. Leonard Kenkel and the Rev. John Clarke will officiate the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Creston. There is open visitation after 11 a.m. today with 6:30 p.m. rosary, 7 p.m. wake service and family receiving friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St. Memorials may be directed to St. Malachy School or Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
  Mrs. McCann, daughter of Marguerite Marie (Mack) and Eugene Frances McEniry, was born April 16, 1924, in Creston. She attended St. Malachy Catholic School and graduated from Creston High School in 1942. On Sept. 4, 1948, she married Gene McCann in Creston. She was a homemaker. She lived in Creston all her life except for five years in Denver, Colo. She served on the Union County Board of Supervisors from 1977 to 1985 and was responsible for the Afton Care Center being built. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church, Lady Elks, Crestmoor Golf Club, several bridge clubs, ODO Club, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She served as Welcome Wagon hostess for 25 years.
  Survivors include two sons, Steve (wife Jane) McCann and Tom McCann, all of Creston; a daughter Mary McCann of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mary Adams of Portland, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on Oct. 1, 1980, and two sisters, Jean Crandall and Jo Shannon.
