Obituary

  Funeral service for Peter L. McCann, 78 were held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here at 11 a.m. Monday. The funeral mass of the resurrection was conducted by Rev. Fr. Patrick Bacon, pastor of the Immaculate Conception parish, Rev. Fr. Jerry Ryan of Des Moines and Rev. Fr. Arthur McCann of Westphalia, assisted by Rev. Fr. Otho Sullivan of St. Malachy's parish.
  Casket bearers were Eugene Dunphy, Ed Hanrahan, Eugene Hayner, John Kessler, Thomas E. Mullin and Ernie Bolinger. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
  Mr. McCann, who had lived in Creston and Union county all of his life except for the last 1½ years, died at a nursing home at Des Moines Friday. He had been ill with cancer for the past 11 months.
