Ruth McCloskey

  Ruth McCloskey, 83, of Port Byron died Tuesday Morning, May 29, 1984 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.
  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Dailey-Gibson Funeral Home at Port Byron with Rev. Don Riley of the First United Methodist Church, Port Byron officiating. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery.
  Visitation is this evening, Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
  The former Ruth E. Dorman was born Oct. 12, 1900 in Gilchrist, IL., a daughter of John Henry and Christina Haye Dorman. She attended Aledo schools.
  On June 1, 1922, she married Earl McCloskey in Aledo. The couple resided in the area for a brief time following their marriage. He died in October 1981.
  Mrs. McCloskey was retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. She had been a resident of Applegate East Nursing Home in Galesburg for the past year.
  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the First United Methodist Church in Port Byron.
  Survivors include two brothers, Hugh Dorman of Viola and Jim Dorman of Muscatine, Ia.; and four nieces and a nephew.
  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers, Clayton and Bill Dorman.
  Memorials may be made to the church.
