Obituary

Word was received here early Saturday of the accidental death Friday night of George McConkay Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George McConkay of Turlock, Calif. Geo. Jr. was in the Navy, and was en-route home on leave, riding with a friend. He had taken his turn at driving, and then gone to sleep in the back seat of the car.
The driver apparently fell asleep, and was injured, but his passenger was killed. Sam McConkay of Corning, and his sister. Mrs. Bill Roth, of Plattsmouth, Nebr., left Sunday morning for Turlock. The George McConkay family formerly resided in Corning.
