William McConnel
Funeral services for William H. McConnel, 57, of Reynolds,
were held at 2 p.m. today Wednesday, in the Reynolds United Methodist
Church. The Rev. Caroline Hutchinson, pastor of the church, and Dr. John
Collins, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Rock Island,
officiated. Burial was in the Reynolds Cemetery under the direction of
the Crummy & McKitrick Funeral Home, Reynolds.
Memorials were made to the Reynolds United Methodist Church or
the First United Methodist Church of Rock Island for the Ewing Center.
Mr. McConnel died Sunday, Dec. 13, in his home.
Mr. McConnel was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Reynolds, the son of A.
Henry and Kathryn Omber McConnel. He received his education in Reynolds
and attended Iowa State University, Ames.
He married Bey Anna Gibler Aug. 25, 1947, at Camp Point.
He had been a farmer in Reynolds his entire life, recently retiring.
He was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Wesenberg of
Davenport and Mrs. Harris Davis of Peoria; two grandchildren; and a
sister Mrs. Martha Turner of Fort Meyers. FL.
