Eugene McEniry Of Creston Dies
Eugene F. McEniry, 77, 300 south Lincoln street in Creston, died at 3
a.m. Sunday at Veterans hospital in Des Moines where he had been a
patient. He had been ill for some time.
A Creston attorney since 1919 when he came here from Lenox, he was retired.
Born June 4, 1894, at Lenox, he was the son of Michael and
Margaret Slattery McEniry. He was married June 1, 1921, at Corning to
Margaret Mack and she preceded him in death just over two weeks ago.
Four daughters survive, Mrs. William (Jean) Crandall of Afton, Mrs. Gene
(Agnes) McCann of Creston, Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Adams of Corvallis, Ore.,
and Mrs. Floyd (Josephine) Balius of Portland, Ore., and 15
grandchildren. Two sisters, Miss Marie McEniry and Miss Josephine
McEniry, both of Creston, and a brother, Gregg McEniry of Baraboo, Wis.,
also survive.
A member of the Catholic church, he was a member of the Union
County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a past state advocate of the Knights of
Columbus. He was an officer in World War I.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Malachy's
church in Creston with Father Patrick Bacon and Father Cunningham in
charge. The V.F.W. firing squad will conduct graveside services at
Calvary cemetery here.
Rosary will be said at 3 and 8 p.m. today at Coen's Home for Funerals.

Eugene McEniry Services Today
Funeral services for Eugene F. McEniry, who passed away Sunday
at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, were held at 10 a.m. today at
St. Malchy's church. The mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Otho
Sullivan, Rev. Father Patrick Bacon and Rev. Father John Cunningham. The
V.F.W. Firing Squad conducted graveside rights. Burial was in Calvary
cemetery. Pall bearers were Stephen McCann, Thomas McCann, Bradford
Crandall, Jeffrey Crandall, Glenn McEniry and Matt McEniry. Coens Home
for Funerals had charge of the services.
