| Thomas W. McGrath
The funeral services of the late Thomas W. McGrath were held
at the Catholic church in Corning Thursday morning at 9:30. Interment
was made in the Catholic cemetery.
Thomas W. McGrath was born Dec. 14, 1868 and died July 13, 1925,
being 56 years, 6 months and 29 days old at the time of his death. He
was born in Wenona, Ill., in LaSalle county. He came to Iowa in 1904 and
located east of town on the Reese farm. He later moved to Diagonal, Ia.,
where he purchased a farm and lived there nine years. His wife preceded
him in death two years ago. He leaves five children. These are: Mrs. E.
Emerson, Omaha, Nebr.; P. J. McGrath of Mt. Ayr; Mrs. Jack McDonald,
Diagonal; Thomas V. McGrath of Philadelphia and Georgia C. McGrath of
Diagonal. Two sisters and two brothers survive. The sisters are Mrs.
Thomas Grimes and Mrs. Williams Schultz of Streator; the brothers are
John of Corning and George of Streator.
