Mrs. Ruth Melvina McGuire, 94, formerly of 307 SW 2nd Ave.,
Aledo, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1985 at the Mercer County Nursing Home,
Aledo. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the
Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, with the Rev. James Carbaugh, pastor
of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church officiating. Entombment will
be in the Aledo Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Thursday morning at Reiser-Trimble from 9 a.m.
until time of the service.
The former Ruth Melvina Wright was born April 27, 1890 in Aledo a
daughter of Dr. Lewis W. and Esther Croson Wright. She married Edward R.
McGuire on Dec. 25, 1913 in Aledo. He died June 20. 1946.
She was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church, the
Aledo Chapter 126 Order of Eastern Star, and the White Shrine and the
Daughters of the Nile, both of Rock Island.
She is survived by a son, Lewis R. McGuire of Aledo; three
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
