| Mr. McManus
Funeral services for Bernard Michael McManus, 70, of Edgington
were held Saturday morning in the Crummy Funeral Home, Reynolds, and in
St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Rev. Eugene Gould, pastor,
officiated. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Mr. McManus died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1977, at his farm.
Mr. McManus was born April 25, 1907, near Taylor Ridge, a son of
Patrick and Ellen Ayers McManus. He attended Reynolds schools and St.
Joseph's schools, Rock Island.
He married Edith Hammerlinck on Feb. 20, 1935, at St. Ambrose
Catholic Church, Milan.
Mr. McManus lived in the Edgington area his entire life.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Rock Island
County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth McGinnis,
Milan, Miss Nancy McManus, Moline, and Mrs. Darel Bush, Milan; three
sons, Michael Bernard, James Leo, and John Francis, all of Edgington; 16
grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Joseph, of Taylor Ridge;
and three sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Monaghan, Rock Island; Mrs. Josephine
Verschoore and Mrs. Loretta Verschoore, both of Taylor Ridge.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, a grandchild and a sister.
