Funeral services for Charles J. McManus 79, of rural Reynolds
were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Jinks Funeral Home, Reynolds, and at
10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Matherville. Burial was
at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Matherville.
Mr. McManus died Saturday Morning, June 9, 1984 at Mercer County
Hospital.
Mr. McManus was born Nov. 6, 1905 in Preemption Township. He
graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg and attended St.
Viator's College in Chicago.
He married the former Frances Kelleher Nov. 22, 1931, in St.
Ambrose Church, Milan. She preceded him in death in 1981.
Mr. McManus was a lifetime Mercer County resident. He was a
farmer, retiring in 1965.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Rita) Schmitke of
Lincolnshire, IL; two sons, Pat C. McManus of route 1, Aledo, and James
J. McManus of Palos Hills, 13 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
