Mrs. Frances McManus

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances E. McManus, 73, of rural Aledo, will begin with a prayer service at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Crummy & McKitrick Funeral Home, Reynolds, followed by a Mass in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Matherville, at 10:30. The Rev. Edward Harkrader, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Preemption Township.
  Visitation will be from 7 to 9 this evening, Wednesday, in the Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
  Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Nursing Home activity room fund.
  Mrs. McManus died Monday afternoon, Oct. 26, in Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo, after an extended illness.
  The former Frances Kelleher was born Sept. 22, 1908, in Reynolds, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret Shea Kelleher.
  She received her education in the rural schools and was graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Rock Island.
  She was married to Charles McManus Nov. 25, 1931 in Milan.
  Mrs. McManus was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Matherville, and the Alter and Rosary Society of the church, and the Reynolds American Legion Auxiliary.
  She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Rita Schmitke of Lincolnshire, IL; and three sons, Patrick C. of Aledo, Martin J. of Aledo, and James J. of Palos Hills, IL; 13 grandchildren; and two sisters, Gertrude Kelleher of Rock Island and Mary Daniel of Davenport.
  She was preceded in death by four brothers.
