James McManus Dies in Aledo Following Stroke of Paralysis

  Funeral services for James McManus, who died at his home in this city at 4:30 o'clock Friday afternoon were held Monday morning, June 7, at 9:30 o'clock, from St. Catherine's Catholic church, of which he was a member. Father C. J. Higgins officiated and interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Preemption.
  Mr. McManus had been ill about three weeks, following a stroke of paralysis. He would have been 75 years of age on June 22, having been born in 1851, in Ireland. He came to America in 1865, settling in Mercer county, near Preemption. He moved to Aledo about 15 years ago, and has since made his home on North Spruce street.
  He was united in marriage February 4, 1891, to Margaret O'Connor, at Preemption. He is survived by his wife and a brother, Patrick of near Preemption.
