The Death of Miss Meehan
On Friday of last week occurred the death of Miss Bridget
Elizabeth Meehan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Meehan of this city,
with whom the deceased resided at the time of her death.
Miss Meehan was born on August 24th, 1870, at Milan, Ill. She
resided with her parents in this county for the last thirty-three years,
eighteen of which has been in or near Denison.
The funeral services were held on Sunday last, at St. Rose of
Lima Catholic church of this city, the Rev. Father Farrelly officiating.
His words on the occasion were well chosen and his remarks as a whole
singularly appropriate.
After the services at the church the body was taken to the
Catholic cemetery for burial.
Miss Meehan had been an invalid practically all her life and the
message of death must have come as a relief from an affliction
hopelessly incurable.
The out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs.
M. W. Conway of Reynolds, Illinois, Mr. J. C. Mack of Preemption,
Illinois, Mrs. M. Hicky, Adair, Iowa and Mrs. M. Antrim of Atlantic, Iowa.
