Death of Miss Meehan
Miss Cecelia Katharyn Meehan died at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John Meehan, in this city, last Friday, July 1st, after two
weeks' serious illness from hemorrhages of the lungs which followed an
attack of pneumonia two years ago which almost took her life at that time.
The funeral was held on Sunday at 10:30 o'clock, Rev. Father
Farrelly officiating, and the interment was made in the Catholic
cemetery near the city.
Miss Meehan was born in Hanover township in this county April 28,
1885, and spent all her life here, where she was known as a bright and
lovable and helpful young lady. She was for several years a valued
school teacher in this county, and among all her relatives and friends
was a favorite. Two years ago she had an attack of pneumonia which kept
her between life and death for several months, but from which she
finally recovered enough to enjoy life again, though she never became
strong afterwards. Her death now comes as a relief from earthly
sufferings, and while she is gone the memory of her bright and cheerful
life is a consolation and an inspiration to the loved ones she has left behind.
She leaves her parents, and three brothers and five sisters
living, all of whom have the deepest sympathy of a large circle of
friends in the sad loss they have sustained.
