Irene E. Michael, 85, of Aledo, formerly of Joy, died
Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at the Mercer County Hospital.
Services for Irene will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral
Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Candor Cemetery, Seaton. Visitation is 6
to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First
Baptist Church of Joy.
Irene was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Monmouth, to Eugene S. and
Caroline H. Petersen Ryner. She married John R. Michael Jan. 26, 1938,
in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1973.
Irene was the activities director for 10 years at the Mercer
County Nursing Home. She was a member of the Baptist church. Irene was a
devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her pet dogs.
Irene is survived by her children and their spouses, Joan I. and
Delbert Jones, Muscatine, Iowa, Jack R. and Beverly Michael, Aledo, Mick
E. and Sue Michael, Lexington, Ky., and Ronald and Joyce Michael, Joy;
10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents; husband; a grandson, Jason Michael; a great-grandson,
Eric Michael; sisters, Marguerite Dutton and Helen Griffee; and
brothers, Willard, Carrol, Richard and Earl Ryner.
