Alice A. Moeller
Funeral service for Alice A. (Mrs. H. C.) Moeller, 86, who
passed away June 10th, after a short illness, were held at 2 p.m.
Saturday at the First Methodist Church in Walthill. Reverand George A.
Evans and Elder Russell Maryott officiated. Interment was at the
Hillcrest cemetery at Decatur, Nebraska under the direction of the
Richendifer Funeral Home.
Vocalists were Mrs. Glen Miller and Mrs. George Brewer
accompanied by Jacquelyn Boydston. Pallbearers were Floyd Beckner, Bill
Bolton, Don Walter, Harold Hayes, Lyle Storm, and Hiram Ball. Honory
Pallbearers: D. Roy Way, H.C. Larson, Clement Sweet, Clyde Russell, Paul
Langenberg, George Perrin, and Ralph Hightree.
Alice Ann Moeller was born in Lyons, Nebraska in 1885, the
daughter of Frank F. and Alice Parker. Three sons and her husband have
preceded her in death. She resided in Burt county until moving to
Walthill in 1941.
In 1905 she and Herman C. Moeller were married at Tekamah,
Nebraska. To this union were born four sons and one daughter: Theodore
of Walthill, Eula Hamilton of South Sioux City, Eldon who died May 24th,
Ronald who died in 1969, and Robert, who was in the U.S. Army Air Force
during World War II and was killed in action in 1943. Her husband,
Herman died in 1965.
She was an active and respected member in community affairs for
many years at Decatur and at Walthill. After moving to Walthill, her
church membership was transferred to the First Methodist church at
Walthill, Nebraska. She was a charter member of the WSCS, and a charter
member of the first Thurston County Home Extension Club; and was for
over fifty years a member of the Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Theodore, one daughter, Eula and her
husband, Bob, and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ronald (Mabel) Moeller, two
brother: Ted Parker and Newell Parker of Firebaugh, California and one
sister, Mrs. May Beebe of Barnsby, British Columbia; Nine grandchildren
and twenty five great grandchildren and several Nieces and nephews.
