Mrs. Cleo Moore
Glidden - Mrs. Cleo G. (Edith L.) Moore, 72, of Glidden died
at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Aug. 16, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in
Carroll after a long illness. She had been a resident of Glidden for 15 years.
A prayer service was held at 3 p. m. Sunday at the Dahn-Woodhouse
Funeral Home in Glidden, with the Rev. H. Wallace Kinzler officiating.
The casket was then taken to the Johnson Funeral Home in Ottumwa, where
the Rev. Mr. Kinzler will conduct rites at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will
be in the Shaul Cemetery at Ottumwa.
Mrs. Moore, daughter of Henry C. and Grace Bailey Waddle, was
born near Agency Feb. 20, 1903. She attended Agency schools and taught
for several years in rural schools in Wapello County. On Oct. 11, 1930,
she was married at Ottumwa to Mike L. Kanny, who died March 21. 1959.
Her marriage to Mr. Moore took place at Glidden Nov. 16, 1960. She was a
member of the Baptist Church at Ottumwa.
Surviving are her husband; four stepchildren, Mrs. Clarence d'Happart of Garland. Tex., Mrs. La Verne Feld of Marshalltown, William
Moore of Davenport and James Moore of New Orleans, La.; a nephew, LeRoy
Waddle of Des Moines, whom she reared; 15 stepgrandchildren and three
stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Rupe of Ottumwa; and
three brothers, Robert and Willard Waddle of Ottumwa and Harvey Waddle
of Brighton. Colo.
