Charles "Bud" Moseley
Charles J. "Bud" Moseley, 82, of Illinois City, died
Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Mathias
Church, Muscatine, Iowa. The Rev. Troy Richmond of St. Mathias Church
will officiate. Casketbearers will be Gregory Moseley, Steven Moseley,
Jerald Moseley, Thomas Likely, Gary McManus and Leland Ziegenhorn.
Honorary casketbearers are Scott Ziegenhorn, Jim Dzekunskas, Gary
Dzekunskas, Victor Dzekunskas, Paul Demeurisse and Merle Reed. Burial
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Muscatine, with military rites by the
combined units of the VFW Post 1565 and the American Legion Post 27.
Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in
Gannon Hall, Muscatine. Visitation for Bud will be held on Sunday, from
4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis
Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine. A memorial has been
established at the funeral home in Bud's name. Sympathy notes may be

Charles Joseph was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Mannon, Ill., the son
of Charles F. and Florence E. Bauguess Moseley. On June 18, 1947, Bud
was united in marriage to Kathryn Loretta Welch in Milan. Bud was a
World War II veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Philippines. He was
a life-long resident of the area and was a member of St. Mathias Church
and a life member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Bud worked for John Deere as an inspector for 26 years before
retiring, as well as farming all his life. He enjoyed the outdoors,
hunting, farming and traveling.
Bud will be deeply missed by his wife, Loretta, Illinois City;
one son, Blair J. Moseley, Illinois City; one daughter, Brenda E.
Arnold, Altoona, Iowa; two granddaughters, Diane Arnold and Ashley
Arnold; two brothers, Curtis J. Moseley and his wife, Beverly, Harper
Woods, Mich., and Cletus E. Moseley and his wife, Sandra, Davenport;
four sisters, Charlotte R. Doonan, Preemption, Marcella L. Malone and
her husband, Pat, Aledo, Janet E. Likely, Milan, and Mary M. Johnson and
her husband, Robert L., Woodhull. He was preceded in death by his
parents and one brother, Macy Lane Moseley; and three brothers-in-law,
Marion Doonan, Tom Likely and Arthur Ryan.
