Arden L. Mosman
Arden Lee Mosman, 74, of Carroll died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004,
at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Funeral service will at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Kessler
Funeral Home in Audubon with the Rev. Ron Mortensen officiating.
Casket bearers will be Brian Boken, Blaine Boken, Rod Dennis,
Marvin Munyon, Lonnie Munyon and James Dennis. Honorary casket bearers
will be Donald Linn, Richard Haskins, Wayne Sporrer, Donald Buswell,
Walter Thomas, Ryan Dennis, Dale Linn and Dennis Gute.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Audubon.
Visitation starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Reck) Mosman, he was born March 2,
1930, at Carroll and baptized and confirmed at Holy Spirit Catholic
Church here. He attended parochial school in Carroll and graduated from
high school in 1948.
He was inducted into the special forces of the military. During
his tour of duty, he served in Trieste, Italy. He was honorably discharged.
After his military service, Mr. Mosman was a bus mechanic for the
Viola School System a short time. He opened his own mechanic business in
Dedham, where he repaired tractors, trucks and cars. After several years
he sold the business and was employed by the City of Carroll until
retiring in February 1995.
He and Charlotte Linn Boken were married June 17, 1999, at Carroll.
During their retirement, the Mosmans remodeled their home, made
furniture and enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Mosman was a member of the Dedham American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Carroll; a son, Lonnie
Mosman, and his wife, Sandra, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; four stepchildren:
Brian Boken and his wife, Amy, of Marne, Blaine Boken and his wife,
Michelle, of Atlantic, Julie Boken of Atlantic and Christy Dennis and
her husband, Rod, of Clear Lake; eight step-grandchildren; five brothers
and sisters: Roland Mosman and his wife, Dee, of Mount View, Ark., Olive
Boom and her husband, D.S., of San Bernardino, Calif., Lonnie Mosman and
his wife, Janet, of Carroll, Don Mosman and his wife, Gloria, of
California and Lorraine Daugherty of Knoxville; numerous nieces,
nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Mosman was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth; and a
brother, Don Mosman.
