Mrs. Mosman, 94, Dies; County Pioneer
Mrs. Helen Z. Mosman, a pioneer resident of Carroll County who
celebrated her 94th birthday last February, died in the Carroll Nursing
Home Friday morning. She was the widow of Anton A. Mosman and is
survived by six sons and daughters all of whom are residents of Carroll
county. Funeral services will be held in SS. Peter and Paul Church at
10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. H. Greteman officiating.

Mrs. Helen Z. Mosman
Mrs. Helen Z. Mosman, 94, widow of the late Anton A. Mosman,
died Friday morning at the Carroll Nursing Home, where she had been a
patient for some time.
Funeral services will be held in SS. Peter and Paul Church at
10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. H. Greteman officiated
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The rosary will be read at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the
Sharp Funeral Home with Msgr. Greteman as leader Friday night.
Mrs. Mosman was born Helen Puttman at Festina, Winneshiek County,
February 27, 1862. In 1872 she came with her family to Carroll County
and lived on a farm near Roselle. She was married in 1883 to Anton A. Mosman.
Her surviving sons and daughters are A. B. Mosman, Will Mosman,
Fred Mosman, Joe Mosman and Mrs. Fred Rohrbeck (Aeleide) of Carroll, and
Mrs. Will Gettler (Mary) of Coon Rapids. Thirty-three grandchildren and
85 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Mosman was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a
son John T., and a daughter Anna.

Final rites were held at SS. Peter and Paul's Church at 10:30
Saturday morning for Mrs. Helen Z. Mosman, 94, who died Thursday morning
at the Carroll Nursing Home.
The Rev. Thomas Donahoe offered requiem mass and delivered the
sermon. The Rt, Rev. Msgr. Frank Greteman was in the sanctuary. Fr.
Donahoe officiated at graveside rites in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Mosman, were Arden Mosman, Viola
Center; Gerald Gettler, Coon Rapids; Louis Mosman, Des Moines; Norbert
Mosman, Glidden; Oliver and Daryl Mosman, Carroll.
Among out-of-town relatives at| the services were Mr. and Mrs.
William Gettler Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Hedierscheit, Coon Rapids;
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Darveaux, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gettler,
Woodward; Mr. and Mrs. William Gettler Jr., Audubon; and Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Caywood, Glidden. There were many other relatives and friends from
the surrounding community.
A native Iowan, Mrs. Mosman had lived in Carroll County since 1872. She
was the widow of Anton A. Mosman.
Surviving sons and daughters are: A. B. Mosman, Will Mosman, Fred
Mosman, Joe Mosman and Mrs. Fred Rohrbeck, Carroll; and Mrs. William
Gettler Sr., Coon Rapids. She also leaves 33 grandchildren and 85
great-grandchildren.
A son, John T., and daughter, Anna, are deceased.
