William H. Mosman
William H. Mosman, 71, retired Carroll painter, died of a
heart condition about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at St. Anthony
Hospital, where he had been admitted the day before.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Wednesday,
where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday and again at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and
Paul Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. H. Greteman officiating. Burial
will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Mosman, a son of Anton and Helena Mosman, was born Sept. 16,
1888, at Norfolk, Neb., coming to Carroll County at an early age. He was
married to Helena Rosauer at SS. Peter and Paul Church here Feb. 2, 1911,
with the Rev. Fr. Kuemper performing the marriage rites. With the exception
of several years at Milford, the Mosmans made their home in Carroll since their
marriage. Mr. Mosman, a painter by trade, retired in 1958. He was a member of SS.
Peter and Paul Church. Mrs. Mosman died Jan. 23, 1947.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lyle (Dorothy)
Rudkin, West Point; Wilbur Mosman, Baltimore, Md.; Virgil Mosman, Terona,
Calif.; and Norbert Mosman, Glidden; nine grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred, Anton and Joe Mosman,
Carroll; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Rohrbeck, Carroll, and Mrs. William
Gettler, Coon Rapids. One brother preceded him in death
