Ryan Murdock
Ryan R. Murdock, 19, of Buffalo Prairie, Ill., died Saturday,
May 21, 2005, as a result of injuries received in an auto accident near Reynolds.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's
Catholic Church, Andalusia. Burial will be in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church, where a Christian
wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the
Rockridge High School Varsity Baseball Program. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral
Home, Milan, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ryan was born Feb. 28, 1986, in Rock Island, the son of Randy and
Joanne Verschoore Murdock. He was a 2004 graduate of Rockridge High
School, where he played basketball and wrestled. Ryan excelled on the
baseball field and was a member of the Rockridge State Finalist baseball
team. He also was a member of the Rockridge Golf Team and had a
hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Highland Springs, just like his Grandpa Tom.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia, and
the Varsity Club at Rockridge. Ryan enjoyed his cousins, farming, Ford
trucks, hunting with his Dad and Grandpa, and he had a great love for
the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include his parents, Randy and Joanne, Buffalo Prairie;
grandparents, Russell and Betty Murdock and Barb Verschoore, all of
Taylor Ridge; aunts and uncles, Teresa Verschoore, Florida, Kay and Ron
Gottrich, Springfield, Ill., Tom and Chris Verschoore, Taylor Ridge, and
Maria Allison, Rock Island; and four nieces. He was preceded in death by
his grandmother, Luella Murdock, and grandfather, Thomas E. Verschoore.
