Mildred Murphy
Services for Mildred Anna Murphy, 73, Reynolds, are 10 a.m.
Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Burial is in Calvary
Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at
Family Funeral Services, Reynolds, with a Christian Wake Service at 6
p.m. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice of Mercer County Hospital.
Mrs. Murphy died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Mercer County
Hospital, Aledo.
She was born April 5, 1925, in Taylor Ridge, the daughter of
Oscar and Tina Vroman Grundstrom. She married Frank Murphy Sept. 2,
1944, in Milan.
Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Altar Society and the Neighbor Club.
She enjoyed quilting, knitting and embroidering.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; daughters and sons-in-law,
Marjorie Seiver, Aledo, Katie and Rodney Voss, Taylor Ridge, Jeanie and
Robert Gamer, Bartlett, Ill., Betty and Jon Fish, LaFarge, Wis., and
Mary and Craig Thompson, Oswego, Ill.; four grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Thielen, Batavia, Ill., and Alice
Fritch, Aledo; and brothers, Herman Grundstrom, Milan, and Carl
Grundstrom, Aledo. She was preceded by parents; a son, James; and a
son-in-law, Harold.
