Richard Francis Neu 4/2/1923 - 1/16/2005 Richard Francis Neu,
age 81; born in Lindsay, TX, to Nick Neu and Theresa Schad Neu. Married
Eva Shirley Jones Sept. 22, 1970.
Richard is survived by his wife Eva of UT; son Michael Neu of CA;
daughter Charlotte Hitt of CA; grandchildren: Richard Eppler of CA;
Shyrl Jones of CA; Jeffery and Melissa Neu of CA; Thomas and Theodore
Hitt of CA; also, step-son and wife Charles R. and Cheri Hastings of UT;
granchildren: Charles J. Hastings and Cassandra Rasmussen of UT; great-granchildren:
Jazzmine Jones of CA; Kaiden Chamberlin of UT; also, survived by seven
sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nick and
Theresa Neu; also, by his eldest daughter Mary Ann Theresa Eppler.
Richard served his country proudly for 20 years in the US Navy as
a boilerman. He served in the South Pacific during World War II, and
retired as Chief Petty Officer. After military duty, he served 20 years
as a boilerman in the Civil Service.
Richard and Eva enjoyed traveling the country and spent many
summers with granddaughters Shyrl and Cassandra in tote. He was an avid
fisherman, and served as a camp cook for son Chuck and friends during
the hunting season. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos with all his
kids, young and old. Richard enjoyed attending church and church
activities with his friends. Since Richard loved children, he thoroughly
enjoyed many years taking care of foster and shelter children, with his wife Eva.
Funeral services will be held on Jan. 22, 2005 at Redwood
Memorial Estates, located at 6500 So. Redwood Rd. Viewing at 10:00,
Chapel Service at 11:00. Graveside at 12:00. After graveside service, a
tribute to Richard will be held at Holladay Baptist Church, located at 2780 E. 3900 S.
