Hester Northup
Hester Coglan was born near North Liberty, Iowa, November 15,
1860 and died August 23, 1930. At the time of her death she was 69
years, 9 months and eight days old. She was the youngest daughter of
John and Mary Coglan, and was one of a family of three children, those
surviving being Mrs. F. M. Barnes of Iowa City, Iowa and Tim Coglan of
Rockford, Illinois.
Hester Coglan was married to Edwin Northup November 6, 1833 at
Oxford, Iowa. To this union six children were born five sons and one
daughter, all of whom were with her at the time of her death. They are
Arthur, at home, Roy, Ralph, and Tim on the home farm, Edwin, Jr., of
Atlantic and Mrs. J. W. Kerf, of Iowa City.
She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and children,
twenty-one grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday a.m., at 10 o'clock in Corning,
conducted by Rev. Fr. Powers, and burial was made in Calvary cemetery.
Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were W. M.
Northup, Ross, Iowa; H. A. Northup and wife, Audubon, Iowa; Mrs. Brenton
Sharp, Dow City, Iowa; M. M. Myers, wife and son, Louis, Audubon, Iowa
and Mr. and Mrs. Tharold Northup of Martinsville, Mo.

Mrs. Ed Northup, Sr. passed away Saturday night after an
extended illness caused by cancer. Funeral services were held in Coming
at the K. C. hall Monday forenoon. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery.
