Winnie O'Toole
Winnie O'Toole, 89, of Aledo, formerly of New Boston, died
Monday, April 12, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Keithsburg, with the Rev. John Thieryoung officiating. Burial is in St.
Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Fippinger Funeral Home,
Aledo, where memorials may be left to the church.
She was born Dec. 10, 1914, in rural Keithsburg, a daughter of
John and Mary Mumey O'Hearn. She attended Keithsburg schools and
graduated from the former Joy High School. She married James O'Toole
April 27, 1935, in Keithsburg. He died April 9, 1998.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. She was
a member of the St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo, former member
of the St Teresa's Altar and Rosary Society in New Boston. She enjoyed
reading and being with her family.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and
Jerry Willits, Milan, Judy and Lloyd Wakeland, Keithsburg and Pamela and
Edward Shaefer, Freeburg, Mo.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Beth
O'Toole of Hanover, Ill.; five grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
a granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers.
