Frances A. Oaks
DAVENPORT -- Frances A. Oaks, of Davenport, died Wednesday,
March 22, 2006, at the Kahl Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be
1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory.
Cremation will follow the services with inurnment be at a later date in
Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth, Ill. Visitation is 5-7 p.m.
Friday, March 24, 2006, at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to
Genesis VNA Hospice.
Frances was born November 23, 1919, in Illinois, the daughter of
Lenard and Gertrude (Waugh) Cooper. She was united in marriage to John
Oaks on March 3, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Frances had been employed for several years at Catherines Stout
Shop, Davenport, from where she retired. Following her retirement she
worked for many years at Bishop's Cafeteria Duck Creek again retiring
when the restaurant was closed.
Those left to honor her memory include son, Lawrence Oaks,
Bettendorf; daughter, Pamela (Russell) Kinkade, Rapids City, Ill.; five
grandchildren, Doug, Shawn, Chad, Jami and Logan Oaks; several
great-grandchildren; brother, Ted (Jean) Cooper, Monmouth, Ill.; and
sister, Ruby (Frank) Garland, Scottsdale, Ariz. Her parents and a son,
John (JD), preceded her in death.
