Florence Ohaver
Florence H. Ohaver, 79, Springfield, IL, formerly of
Millersburg and Aledo, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 1987 at Memorial
Medical Center, Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, at
the Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Rev. Donald Wise of the Aledo United
Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Millersburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be left for the Millersburg Cemetery.
The former Florence Hyett was born in Mercer County, IL a
daughter of Jonas and Lillie Lunn Hyett. She attended the Millersburg
School, graduated from Aledo High School and attended Western Illinois
University in Macomb.
She married Dr. Matthew Ohaver on Nov. 27, 1928 in Rock Island.
He died in 1937. She lived in Millersburg and moved to Aledo in 1951.
Later moved to Springfield in 1953.
She was employed in the office of the Secretary of State of
Illinois, Springfield for 22 years retiring in 1975. She was of
Protestant Faith.
She is survived by two sons, David Ohaver of Cuba, IL and Delano
Ohaver of Farmington, IL; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five
sisters, Mrs. Iris Morris of Aledo, Mabel Phillips of Eldon, IA, Mary
Mumey of Davenport, IA, Ferris Schaeffer of Davenport and Blanch Hutt of Coyne Center.
