Mrs. Mary Olberding
Mrs. Mary A. Olberding, 82, of Carroll died about 3 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Anthony
Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since July, 1968. She had
been ill for two weeks.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy
Spirit Church by the Very Rev. Leo Lenz, V. F.; interment will be in Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll after 2 p.m.
Monday. Rosaries Monday are scheduled for 3 p.m. by the Legion of Mary, 8 and 8:45 p.m.
Mrs. Olberding was a daughter of Anton and Elizabeth Kohorst
Hoelscher. She was born Sept. 16, 1888, at Arcadia and received her schooling at Arcadia.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and Women's Guild and of the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are seven stepchildren: Melvin Olberding, Omaha; Mrs. Reo
(Cyrillia) Miles, Auburn; Mrs. Richard (Alma) Schulte, Des Moines; LuVern, Orville and Merle
Olberding, Carroll; and Eugene Olberding of Auburn; also 34 grandchildren,
28 great-grandchildren and a brother, Henry Holescher of Manning. Mrs. Olberding was preceded
in death by her husband; a stepson, Wayne Olberding; three brothers, Clem, Frank and Joe
Hoelscher; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Dentlinger, Magdalene and Josephine Hoelscher.

Requiem high mass for Mrs. Mary A. Olberding, 82, of Carroll
was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Spirit Church here by the
Very Rev. Leo Lenz, V.F. She died Sept. 26 at St. Anthony Nursing Home
after being ill for two weeks. Pallbearers were James Olberding, Paul
Olberding, Dennis Olberding, Duane Olberding, Ronald Miles and Steven
Olberding. Interment was in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
The Twit Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Friends and relatives attending the funeral were from Omaha,
Neb.; Minnesota; and several Iowa towns including Halbur, Westside,
Auburn, Manning, Arcadia, Fort Dodge, Glidden, Rockwell City, Lake City,
Granger, Waterloo, Des and Carroll.
