Anna Olbertz

  Mrs. Anna Olbertz died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theresa Hoffmann in this city last Saturday evening at 6:30. She was born in Uckerah Kries Lienburg Kohn sm Rhein, Germany, on October 15, 1836. She came to America on July 4th, 1867, and was united in marriage to Peter Olbertz on November 26, 1870, at Twin Grove, Illinois. Her husband was reared in the same country as she in the Rhein province in a town called Socven. To the union was born the following children: Anna, now Sister Julia of St. Rose convent at LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Gertrude, now Mrs. W. B. Schmitz of Mt. Carmel; Mary now Sister Eustella of the same convent as her sister, Anna; Kate, now Mrs. Joe Reinhart of Carroll. There are 19 grandchildren surviving her loss. The funeral services were held from SS. Peter and Paul church Wednesday morning, Rev. Father Kuemper reading requiem high mass and a second requiem being read by Rev. L Schenkelberg, a nephew of the deceased, after which interment was made in the Mt. Carmel cemetery beside the remains of her husband. She was a good Christian and one of those excellent women respected and honored by all who knew her. The sympathy of all go out to the bereaved.
