| Nellie R. Olson
Mrs. Nellie R. Olson, 86, of 310 NE 4th Ave., Aledo, died
Sunday, Nov. 8, 1987 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. Services were
held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo
under direction of the Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. William A.
Petrillo officiated. Burial was in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials were
designated to the Messiah Lutheran Church Building Fund.
The former Nellie Ruth Almquist was born Oct. 4, 1901 in Aledo,
the daughter of Andrew W. and Zelma Bjorkman Almquist. She married
Carlyle Samuel Olson on March 8, 1930 in Aledo. He died May 7, 1985. She
was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Thedes, Inc., Aledo. She
later assisted her husband in their farming operation in the Preemption
area. They moved to Aledo in 1983. She received her education in the
Aledo schools and attended the former William and Vashti College, Aledo.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church women; the Fellowship
Group of the church; and the Preemption Unit of Mercer County Home Extension.
She is survived by her sister, Frances J. Peterson of Aledo; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters,
and one brother.
