Carl A. Parchert
Carl A. Parchert, 43, who was reared and educated in Buffalo Prairie
township, Rock Island county, Ill., died today at the Illinois Research
hospital, Chicago, where he had been since Monday. Mr. Parchert had been
in poor health for a number of years.
Born Nov. 6, 1911, in Buffalo Prairie township, he was the son of
William F. and Louisa Cadel-Parchert. He was married on May 2, 1936, to
Laurel Glory Schmidt in Mineral, Ill.
Mr. Parchert farmed all of his life with the exception of
the past three years while the family has lived during the school terms
in Tucson, Ariz., where Mrs. Parchert has served as a school
teacher. Summers during this period have been spent on a farm near Reynolds.
Surviving besides the wife are two daughters, Linda and Connie,
and two sons, Arnold and Jerry, all at home; four brothers, Maynard W.,
William F. and Ralph A. Parchert , all of near Illinois City; and
Everett H. Parchert , Taylor Ridge, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. George Sallows, Port Byron, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He also was preceded in
death by a brother and two sisters, all in infancy.
Under the arrangements by Larson Funeral of Milan, IL, funeral
services will be held Sunday at the former farm home of the parents in
Buffalo Prairie township and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Zion Lutheran
church at Buffalo Prairie. The Rev. John L. Stuebe, pastor of the
church, will officiate. (June, 1955)
