Evelyn Parchert
Evelyn M. Parchert, 88, of Taylor Ridge died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003,
at her home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church,
Taylor Ridge. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home,
Milan. Memorials may be made to the church or to a musical scholarship
fund that has been established at Rockridge High School.
Mrs. Parchert was born June 21, 1915, in Rock Island County, the
daughter of George and Mary Attig Mueller. She married Everett H.
Parchert Aug. 4, 1937, at Zion Lutheran Church. He died June 13, 1997.
Along with being a homemaker; she was head of Project Now meal
site at the church for 20 years. She was involved in many activities at
the church over the years. Evelyn enjoyed being with her children and
grandchildren along with being an avid gardener. During World War II,
she was involved in making Red Cross dressings.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Larry and Sue
Parchert, Mary and Jim LeCleir, Keith and Carol Parchert and Ruth and
Gary Adams, all of Taylor Ridge, Carroll and Linda Parchert, Fredonia,
Wis., Wayne and Denise Parchert, Elburn, Ill., and Bonnie and Steve
Drake, Illinois City; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; a
great-great-stepgranddaughter; sister-in-law, Anne Mueller; along with
numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded by a granddaughter;
four sisters; and three brothers.
