Vince Patrizi
Vince G. Patrizi, 54, of Reynolds, died Saturday, Oct. 12,
2002, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Family Funeral Services,
Reynolds. Burial is in Reynolds Cemetery. Visitation is 1 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home. Vince's organs were donated for medical
research. Memorials may be made to The Gift of Hope.
Vincenzo was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Riposto, Sicily, son of
Guisseppi and Maria Gangemi. As a young child, he was brought to America
from Sicily for medical treatment by Barbara Harrison. Vince was then
adopted by Joseph and Leona Hoffman Patrizi, but he continued to keep in
close contact with his Sicilian family, visiting them frequently in the
past few years. He married Elizabeth Gauley.
Vince had owned the Longbranch Tavern, Reynolds, since 1975.
Prior to that, he managed The Oaks in Oak Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Kristin Patrizi,
Reynolds; sons, Anthony Patrizi, Rock Island, and Timothy Smith,
Reynolds; and his Sicilian family, including his mother, Maria Gangemi,
sisters, Lena, Sara and Ina, and brother, Giovanni.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Leona Patrizi;
and his father, Guisseppi Gangemi.
