Gloria Paul, 69, Corning, died Monday, Dec. 18, at St. Joseph
Hospital, Omaha, Neb.
Services are pending at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning.

Gloria W. Paul
Gloria Winifred Paul, 69, was born May 20, 1926, to Ernest McKinley
and Rutha May Cornett Love at Bridgewater. She died Dec. 18, 1995, at
St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Neb.
Her family moved to an acreage southwest of Coming when she was a very
young child. They owned and operated a produce station and raised
ponies. She graduated from Corning High School and taught a rural school
for one year and the Humpty-Dumpty Pre-school for many years.
She was married to Cleland Carl Paul Sept. 9, 1945, at Coming. She was
always involved in her children's activities and sports, and was a
Sunday School teacher. She was an avid bowler and golfer as long as her
health permitted. She was an active member of the United Methodist
Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary where she recently became a
50-year member, and a special group of ladies, her bridge club.
Mrs. Paul had always been active in the community, making visits to
residents of Colonial Manor and sending cards for all occasions. She
enjoyed life to the fullest. One of her proudest events was being Grand
Marshall in a Homecoming Parade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers-in-law,
Claude Paul and Harold Nevius.
She is survived by her children Susan Cox of Independence, Mo.; Pamela
(husband Larry) Morrison; and son Michael Paul, both of Creston; seven
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Cleda
Paul and Grace Nevius, both of Corning.
Services were held Dec. 21 at the Corning United Methodist Church with
Rev. Richard Layman officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Corning.
Casket bearers were Pat Paul, Brett Cox, Lanny Paul, Donnie Nevius,
Kelly Morrison, and Scott Morrison.
Honorary bearers were Steven Paul, Bill Brenton, Nicholas Cox, Carl
Johnston, and Chris Morrison.
Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning was in charge of arrangements.
