William Paul
William Jacob Paul, 81, son of William Howard and Martha Jane
Swain Paul was born June 25, 1908, at Creston and died Dec. 15, 1989, at
Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
He attended rural school through eighth grade and began farming. His
entire life was spent in the Adams and Taylor County areas.
On Dec. 11, 1928, he married Agnes U. Bray at Corning. She preceded him
in death July 11, 1985. He was a member of the Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Kathleen Burgan
Paul; two sisters. Viola Violet and Cora Alberta; two brothers who died
in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Earl Reed.
He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Frame and her husband Floyd of
Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Daryl Paul and his wife Nita of West Valley,
Utah; two brothers, Curtis and his wife Peggy and Doyle and his wife
Doris, all of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Clara Reed of
Corning, Gladys Conkling and her husband Bernard of Stanton, and Martha
Dunmire and her husband Alfred of Des Moines; two half-brothers, Bernard
Paul of Bayton Beach, Fla., and Howard Paul and his wife Linda of
Carroll; a step-sister, Barbara Olive and her husband Kenneth of Saint
Charles, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 18 at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning
with the Rev. Carl Cummin officiating. Casket bearers were Dick, Dirk,
Jerry, David, Darren, Delaine and Travis Paul. Honorary bearers were
Darla Paul, Ronald and Donald Frame and Melody Buchanan. Burial was in
Oak Hill Cemetery at Corning.
