Mrs. D. Perry
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Perry, 73, Alpha, were held
at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan 3, 1975, in St. John's Church, Woodhull. The Rev.
Arnold Klauer, pastor, officiated with burial in St. John's Catholic
Cemetery, Viola. The Rosary was recited Thursday evening in the
Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Perry died Wednesday morning, January 1, at the home of her
daughter in Woodhull.
The former Dorothy Picton was born Sept. 10, 1901, in Farmington,
a daughter of Richard and Ellie Murphy Picton.
On Dec. 28, 1922, she was married to Robert Perry in Peoria. She
was reared and educated in Farmington and taught school there prior to
moving to Alpha in 1935. She had worked at the McKee Diner in Alpha for
several years.
She was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Woodhull
and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Dale Johnson of
Woodhull; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters,
Mrs. Freda Snider and Mrs. Frances Whited, both of Farmington.
Preceding her in death was a sister.
