A. 'Margaret' Peterson
On March 20, 2000, A. "Margaret"' Peterson, of 2200
1st St. A, in Moline, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. She was 88 and died at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethany Baptist
Church in Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at
Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd. in Moline and from 9:30 a.m. until service time
Friday at the church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery
in Princeton, Ill. Memorials may be made to the church or Christian Friendliness.
Alice Margaret Peterson was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Princeton,
the daughter of Andrew and Augusta Pihl Peterson.
She had been employed as a key-punch operator at Desaulnier's for
29 years, retiring in 1976. Earlier, she had been employed in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. J. Johnston in Moline.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she had served
as membership secretary and church librarian and also sang in the choir.
She had done volunteer work for Christian Friendliness for many years.
Survivors include nieces (and spouses), Helen Gager (Jim), Coal
Valley, and Virginia Ryner (Frank), Rock Island; sisters, Gladys M.
Pearson, Moline, and Lillian E. Filbrun, Springfield, Ill.; a brother,
Stanley A. Peterson, Princeton; a nephew, Jon H. Filbrun, Springfield;
three great-nieces; and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
