Mrs. Rose Pietig

  Requiem mass for Mrs. Rose Pietig, 82, of Carroll will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Church at Lidderdale by the Rev. Jerome Degen. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
  Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 3, 8 and 8:45 p.m. The 8 p.m. rosary will be by the Catholic Daughters of America.
  Mrs. Pietig died unexpectedly at 8:55 a.m. Monday, April 23. She was born March 19, 1891, at Templeton, a daughter of Frank and Josephine Stallman Kerkhoff, and received her education at Templeton. She was married at Sacred Heart Church there to William Joseph Pietig on Jan. 19, 1913. They farmed southeast of Carroll until moving to the Lidderdale area in 1934.
  Mrs. Pietig had been residing at the Carroll Health Center for the past few months. She was a member of Holy Family Church and Rosary Society at Lidderdale and the Catholic Daughters of America at Carroll.
  Surviving are six children, including Mrs. Louis (Angie) Tigges of Glidden, Mrs. Cyril (Lucille) Brinker of Breda, Wayne of Santa Cruz, Calif., Ray of Omaha, Neb., Franklin and Ed of Carroll; 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Herman (Cecelia) Scharfenkamp of Morgan, Minn.; and three brothers, Ed Kerkhoff of Morgan, Al and Henry Kerkhoff of Templeton.
  Mrs. Pietig was preceded in death by her husband; a son, William, Dec. 31, 1972; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Feilmeier and Mrs. John (Josephine) Pietig; and three brothers, Ben, Joe and John Kerkhoff.
