Wm. Pietig Dead of Heart Ailment; Rites on Saturday
William J. Pietig, 58, Route 2, Carroll, died of a heart
ailment at St. Anthony hospital at 4:40 p. m. yesterday. He had been in
poor health about a year. After being in the hospital seven or eight
weeks, Mr. Pietig had returned to his home one and one-half miles west
of Lidderdale, but had re-entered the hospital last Saturday after being
home only a week.
Funeral services will be at 9 a. m. Saturday at Holy Family
church, Lidderdale, with the Rev. Fr. Laurence Schoeppner offering the
requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
The body is resting at the Sharp Funeral home, where the rosary
will be prayed at 8 o'clock tonight and Friday. The Rev. Fr. Schoeppner
will lead the prayers both evenings.

Mr. Pietig, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Pietig, was born
on a farm southeast of Carroll November 2, 1889. He was married January
29, 1913, to Rose Kerkhoff at Sacred Heart church, Templeton, by the
Rev. Fr. Tennisie.
The couple located on the home farm southeast of Carroll, living
there until they move in 1934 to their farm west of Lidderdale, which is
the present home.
Mr. Pietig leaves his wife, seven children and 12 grandchildren.

The children are: Mrs. Louis Tigges (Angie), Glidden; Mrs. Cyril
Brinker (Lucille), Breda; Wayne J., Dedham; Raymond H., Omaha, Franklin
W., Dedham; William, jr., and Edward, at home.
Also surviving are one brother, Fred Pietig, Carroll; three
sisters, Mrs. Henry Dultmeier (Elizabeth), Templeton, Mrs. John Smith
(Veronica), Carroll. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Pietig belonged to Holy Family church and the Holy Name
society of the parish.
