| Virgil Pinger
Virgil F. Pinger, 83, formerly of Keithsburg, died Friday,
Jan. 21, 2000, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.
There are no services or visitation.
Mr. Pinger was employed as a town marshal in Keithsburg and a
deputy sheriff in Mercer County.
He was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Keithsburg. He married Beulah
Lingafelger. She preceded him in death.
He served 20 years in the Navy aboard the USS Arkansas, including
during WWII, and served in both the Atlantic and Pacific.
Survivors include a sister, Justine Lathrop, Bettendorf; and
brothers, William, of Keithsburg, and Bernard, of Missouri.
