Stella Plock
Mrs. Stella L. Plock, 84, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of
Aledo, died Friday, Jan 23, in St. Petersburg.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, in St.
Catherine's Roman Church, Aledo. The Rev. George Thompson, pastor and
the Rev. C. M. Meyer, retired pastor, officiated. Burial was in the St.
Mary's Cemetery, Keithsburg, under the direction of the Reiser Funeral Home, Aledo.
The former Stella Leahigh was born May 15, 1896, near Joy, a
daughter of William and Katherine Welch Leahigh. She attended the Joy
schools, the former William and Vashti College, Aledo, and the former
Western Illinois Teacher's College, Macomb.
She married Carl E. Plock on Nov. 29, 1940, in Aledo. He died in 1975.
Mrs. Plock was employed as a school teacher in Mercer County,
retiring several years ago.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Aledo,
the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church, the Mirror Lake Club and the
Senior Citizens Club in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include two stepsons, John Plock of San Antonio, Texas,
and Carl Plock of Saudi Arabia; three grandchildren; a brother, James
Leahigh of Bettendorf; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kisler of Aledo and
Mrs. Kathleen Budelier of Rock Island.
A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
