Mrs. John Pollock
Funeral services for Mrs. John Pollock, 79, rural Aledo, were
held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, Aledo. The Rev.
Claude Moreland, pastor, officiated and burial was in Aledo Cemetery,
with Fippinger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pollock died unexpectedly in her home at 9:40 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 14.
The former May E. Brown was born May 3, 1896, in Mercer County, a
daughter of James N. and Mary B. Wood Brown. She attended Sugar Grove schools.
On July 15, 1914, she married John F. Pollock in the Baptist
parsonage in Aledo. They resided in Mercer County all their married
life, where they had farmed.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Faith Circle of
the church and of the Perryton Home Extension.
Surviving are the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Cecil (Helen)
Bogart, Mrs. Lester (Edna) Chard and Mrs. Melvin (Bessie) Glidden, all
of Aledo; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Harry O. Brown, Aledo
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sons and three brothers.
