Dr. Presnell In Hospital
Dr. J. W. Presnell of Scranton was admitted to St. Anthony
Hospital Monday after suffering a heart attack at his home Monday noon.
He was brought to the hospital in the Huffman ambulance.

Scranton - Dr. James Presnell, 84, who had practiced medicine
here more than 60 years, died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital in
Carroll, where he had been a patient since May 9.
The body is at the Huffman Funeral Home here, awaiting completion of arrangements.
Dr. Presnell, who was born Dec, 22, 1870, at Center Point, Iowa,
followed his father, Dr. James Presnell Sr., in the medical profession here.
He received his M. D. degree from the State University of Iowa,
Iowa City. He was also a graduate of a business course at Iowa City.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, whose home is in Idaho
Falls, Idaho, and four sons: Wade and Lowell Presnell, Scranton, Bryce
Presnell, Rippey and Frank Presnell, Des Moines.
Dr. Presnell's Masonic affiliations included: Za Ga Zig Shrine, Des
Moines; Golden Gate Lodge, Scranton; the Consistory, Knights Templar and
Royal Arch Masons.

Scranton - Funeral services were, at 2 p.m. Saturday at the
Methodist Church here for Dr. James W. Presnell, 84, pioneer physician,
who died Wednesday at St. Anthony Hospital. Carroll. The Rev. Nobel
Blackman officiated. The Masonic service was given at the church. Burial
was in the Scranton Cemetery.
Dr. Presnell, who received his M.D. degree from the State
University of Iowa, had practiced medicine at Scranton more than 60 years.
Surviving with his wife, the former Emma Frease, are one
daughter, Mrs. Maldon (Irene) Later, Idaho Falls, Ida., and four sons,
Lowell and Wade, Scranton; Bryce, Rippey, and Frank, Des Moines.
The body remained at the Huffman Funeral home in Scranton until
the final rites.
