Ella Redpath
Ella M. Redpath, 82, of Matherville, died Sunday, March 24,
1991 in the extended care unit of Mercer County Hospital in Aledo.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, at St.
Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville with the Revs. Ken Przybyla and
Jim DeBisschop, officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
Memorials may be made to the church where Mrs. Redpath was a member.
She was born Sept. 11, 1908 in Preemption, IL, a daughter of Tom
and Mary Dooley David. She graduated from the Sherrard High School and
married James Redpath on Oct. 1, 1929 in Matherville. He died Sept. 24, 1983.
She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St.
Anthony's; the Matherville PTA, the FOE Women's Auxiliary, and the
Mercer County Home Extension.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Adams, Dorothy Anderson
and Judy Pitman, all of Matherville and Marjorie Mapes of Rock Island; a
son Robert Redpath of Matherville; 28 grandchildren; 39
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Miller of Aledo; and a
brother, Ben David of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband and a son, Ronald.
Pallbearers were Ronnie J. and Tony Redpath, Danny and Larry
Adams, Joe Pitman and Mike Leonard.
