Mrs. Catherine Reiff, Lidderdale, Dies Here Tuesday
Funeral Services Will Be Held Friday at Lidderdale
Lidderdale (THNS) - Mrs. Catherine Reiff of Lidderdale, who
had been in ill health for some time, passed away at the St. Anthony
Hospital in Carroll about 11:15 Tuesday night. Her age was 65 years.
Rites are to be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at Holy Family
Church in Lidderdale, with burial in the parish cemetery.
The body is resting at the Dietrich Funeral Home until the time of the services.
Mrs. Reiff, whose maiden name was Catherine Muchl, was born May
7, 1877, at New Vienna, Iowa. When a small girl she came to Carroll
County with her parents, who located in the Mt. Carmel community.
May 11, 1897, she married Herman Reiff at Mt. Carmel. With the
exception of three years in Sac County, Mrs. Reiff had spent the larger
part of her married life in Sheridan Township, where her husband and she
farmed until their retirement in 1928. They had lived in Lanesboro and
Lidderdale since that time. Mr. Reiff passed away Oct. 9, 1941.
Surviving are four children, Frank Reiff; Mrs. Hilbert Reinart
(Cecelia), Manning; Melvin Reiff, Carroll; and Mrs. Paul Schmitt
(Agnes), Milwaukee, Wis. There are six grandchildren. One child died in infancy.
Mrs. Reiff was a member of Holy Family Church at Lidderdale.
