Arthur A. Reinart

  Arthur Reinart died Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll at the age of 89. Art was born on July 4, 1913, at Carroll, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Katerine (Olbertz) Reinart. He graduated from Carroll High School and then attended a Mechanic School. He was employed at Lockhart Motors in Carroll. Art and Loretta Ferneding were married on June 29, 1942 at St. Mary Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. He entered the U.S. Army in February 1943 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in March 1946. Following military service Art managed the Standard Oil Station at the Junction of Hwy. 30 and 71. In 1958 he started Reinart Service in Carroll and sold the business to Jim Thielen and Mike Mosman in 1975. Art's beloved Loretta died in July 1995. He was a member of St. Lawrence parish, Parish Men's Club, and Carroll American Legion. Art dearly loved his family and enjoyed having coffee with and visiting with his many friends.
  He is survived by his children, Richard Reinart, Charlotte (Dick) Ricke, Vicki (David Engler) Reinart, and Geri (Chuck Perrenoud) Reinart; granddaughters, Amy and Sara Ricke; brother, Gene Reinart; and sisters, Lucille Davis, Alita (Ed) Snyder, and Lucenda Ocken. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Reinart; and sisters, Isabell Presnell and Vi Schleisman.
