Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene
J. Reinart, 94, Bettendorf, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. John Vianney
Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Long
Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the
Halligan McCabe De Vries Funeral Home, Davenport, where a prayer service
will be offered at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m.
until service time on Tuesday at the Church.
Eugene died Friday, November 5, 2004 at his home in Bettendorf.
He was born March 30, 1910 in Halbur, Iowa, the son of Joe
and Kate (Olbertz) Reinart.
Eugene graduated from Carroll High School, Carroll, Iowa.
Eugene was a machine operator at Alcoa, Inc. He retired in
1975. Before moving to Davenport he farmed in the Carroll, Iowa, area.
He married Genevieve B. Thorpe, June 10, 1935 in Wall Lake,
Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 5, 1996.
He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Alcoa
Retirees Club and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus # 532,
Davenport. He was also an avid card player.
Memorials may be made to the St. John Vianney Building Fund
or to Genesis Hospice.
Survivors include his children Jacquie J. (Bill) Moore,
LeClaire, Iowa; Robert E. (Bobbie) Reinart, Davenport; Mary C. (Dr. Lea)
Sandifer, Olympia, Washington; Margaret A. Reinart, Bettendorf; and
Teresa J. (Paul) Mack, Georgetown, Texas. He is also survived by 14
grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren as
well as 3 sisters, Lucille Davis, Omaha, Nebraska; Aleta (Edgar) Snyder,
Breda, Iowa; and Lucinda Ocken, Plantation, Florida.
His wife, Genevieve, a grandson, a great granddaughter, 2
sisters and 2 brothers preceded him in death.
May Eugene and all his deceased relatives rest in peace.
