Genevieve Reinart
Davenport -- Services for Genevieve B. Reinart, 83, of
Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996 at St. John Vianney
Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Long Grove, Iowa.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996 at Halligan-McCabe
Funeral Home, Davenport, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Reinart died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, at her home.
Genevieve Thorpe was born Jan. 29, 1913, in Schaller, Iowa,
daughter of Merrill A. and Emma Taubman Thorpe.
She married Eugene J. Reinart on June 10, 1935 in Wall Lake, Iowa.
She worked in retail sales, was a self-employed seamstress and
was a homemaker and mother.
She graduated from Lake View (Iowa) High School. She received her
teaching certification from Iowa State Teacher's College.
She was a member of the church. Her hobbies included crafts,
painting pictures, reading and playing cards.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene J. Reinart, Davenport;
children and their spouses, Jacqueline J. and William Moore, LeClaire,
Iowa, Robert E. and Bobbie Reinart, Davenport, Mary C. and Dr. Leamon
Sandifer, Olympia, Wash., Margaret A. Reinart, Davenport, and Teresa J.
and Paul Mack, Dubuque, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Sherman Thorpe, Lake View.
Grandchildren who were pall bearers include Gary Moore Sr.,
Michael Moore Sr., Robert Reinart Jr., Scott Reinart, Thomas Reinart and
Jeffrey Mack. Grandchildren who are honorary pall bearers include Pamela
Smith, Beth Reinart, Cindy Reinart, Catherine Davidson, Steven Sandifer,
Timothy Sandifer, Richard Sandifer and Heather Mack.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a grandson,
and a great-granddaughter.
